Davidson Defense Phantom's Fury 8.5-inch Pistol-Gas 1:8 .300 BLK AR-15 Freefloat M-Lok Handguard Pistol Upper Build Kit

Phantom's Fury 8.5-inch Pistol-Gas 1:8 .300 BLK AR-15 Freefloat M-Lok Handguard Pistol Upper Build Kit

The Phantom's Fury delivers a compact, hard-hitting .300 Blackout upper built on proven AR-15 architecture. This pistol-length gas system upper pairs an 8.5-inch heavy barrel with a free-float M-LOK handguard, giving you a short package that doesn't sacrifice accuracy or reliability. The 1:8 twist rate stabilizes a wide range of .300 BLK ammunition, from supersonic loads to heavy subsonic rounds. Davidson Defense engineered this upper with 7075-T6 aluminum construction, M4 feed ramps, and a micro low-profile gas block sized for the pistol system. Whether you're building a short-range performer or a suppressor-ready platform, this upper delivers the foundation for a compact, capable rifle.

Free-Float Handguard Advantage

The free-float M-LOK design isolates the barrel from handguard contact, eliminating pressure points that can shift zero. This approach improves shot-to-shot consistency without requiring any special installation technique. The 7-inch length provides mounting flexibility while keeping the overall package compact. M-LOK slots run the full length, giving you multiple attachment points for accessories, lights, or vertical grips without adding bulk.

Pistol-Length Gas System Performance

Pistol-length gas systems cycle faster than rifle-length systems, which matters in a compact upper where barrel length is already limited. The micro low-profile gas block keeps the sight line low and maintains the handguard's clean profile. This configuration balances reliability with the short overall length that defines the pistol upper category.

1:8 Twist Rate Flexibility

The 1:8 twist stabilizes .300 Blackout across the full spectrum. Heavier subsonic rounds, typically 200 to 220 grains, need this faster twist to maintain stability. Supersonic loads, even lighter ones, remain stable without over-rotation. This versatility means you're not locked into a single ammunition type.

7075-T6 Upper Receiver Construction

7075-T6 aluminum is harder and more durable than standard 6061-T6, providing better longevity under sustained use. The anodized finish protects against corrosion and wear. M4 feed ramps ensure reliable feeding across various ammunition types, and the forward assist gives you manual bolt closure capability when needed.
