The Volley Upper Build Kit from Davidson Defense is a 7.62x39 AR-15 upper assembly built around a 16-inch H-Bar barrel with a carbine-length gas system. The kit includes the upper receiver, barrel, and handguard. The bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included.

Barrel and Upper Receiver

The barrel runs 16 inches in 7.62x39 with a 1-in-10 twist rate, H-Bar profile, and 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium construction with a phosphate finish. A carbine-length gas system pairs with a .750 O.D. micro low-profile gas block positioned beneath the handguard. The upper receiver is 7075-T6 aluminum with an anodized finish. Thread pitch is 5-in-8x24, and the kit includes a GI Birdcage flash hider sized for the .308 bore diameter at that thread pitch.

Handguard

The 15-inch freefloat M-Lok handguard is aluminum construction with M-Lok interface for accessory placement along the rail. At 15 inches, the handguard length exceeds the 16-inch barrel, so the barrel does not protrude past the handguard, with the muzzle device providing clearance forward of the handguard end. The .750 O.D. micro low-profile gas block sits beneath the handguard, keeping the exterior profile clean along the forend.
