Perfect For
- AR-15 owners upgrading to a full nickel boron bolt carrier group for easier cleaning and reduced fouling adhesion
- Tactical, duty, and competition shooters who want a smooth-cycling BCG with a corrosion-resistant surface treatment across all contact surfaces
- Suppressed AR-15 builds where carbon and fouling accumulation is accelerated and a low-stick surface finish provides a meaningful cleaning advantage
- Builders who want a complete bolt carrier group with an M16 profile carrier and properly staked gas key covered in one unit
Full Nickel Boron Surface Treatment
Nickel boron is an electroless coating process that bonds directly to the steel surface of the carrier, bolt, and extractor rather than sitting on top of the metal as a separate layer. The coating fills microscopic surface irregularities in the steel, producing a dense, hard, and extremely smooth finished surface across every treated component. That smoothness is the core functional benefit. Metal-on-metal contact between the bolt carrier and the upper receiver interior generates friction on every cycling event, and a smoother surface means less friction, which translates to a noticeably smoother cycling feel compared to a standard phosphate or nitride BCG. The full coverage across the carrier, bolt, and extractor means every surface that moves, contacts another part, or accumulates carbon receives the same low-friction treatment.
Reduced Fouling Adhesion and Easier Cleaning
Carbon fouling from combustion gases bonds more aggressively to rough or porous surfaces than to smooth ones. The dense nickel boron coating creates a surface that carbon has difficulty adhering to, which means fouling wipes away more easily during cleaning and requires less solvent and mechanical effort to remove than a standard finish. For shooters running high round counts, suppressed configurations where fouling accumulates faster, or duty applications where maintenance time is limited, the reduced fouling adhesion of a nickel boron BCG provides a real practical advantage over a standard finish.
M16 Full-Auto Profile Carrier
The carrier uses an M16 full-auto profile, which includes the full auto sear trip shelf on the underside of the carrier. This profile is the standard for quality AR-15 bolt carrier groups and is compatible with all standard Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers regardless of selector configuration. The M16 profile carrier also provides slightly more mass than a semi-auto only carrier, which can contribute to more reliable cycling across a wider range of ammunition and gas system conditions.
Gas Key and Forward Assist
The Mil-Spec gas key uses properly staked screws, which is the correct specification for preventing the key from loosening under the repeated gas pressure cycles of sustained use. An improperly staked or loose gas key is a direct cause of short-stroking and cycling failures, so the properly staked screws on this BCG address that critical reliability point. The carrier body carries fully machined forward assist serrations that interface correctly with the forward assist plunger on standard Mil-Spec upper receivers.
