Heat treatment and wire EDM work are done, which handles the most demanding steps in producing a slide. The exterior has not been machined, so the blank is aimed at builders and machinists who want to shape the outside profile themselves instead of working around someone else's finish choices. Internal components, barrel, and recoil spring assembly are not included.

Construction and Current State of Machining
This blank arrives with the internal work finished, including the internal cuts and the iron sight cuts, along with heat treatment and wire EDM. Because those steps are already done, the builder starts from a part that has the core functional geometry in place. The surface is raw and unfinished in its natural metal color, so it will need a finish applied before use. External machining has not been completed. That means the blank has no front or rear serrations, no window cuts, and no optic cut of any kind, so the exterior profile and any cosmetic or optic-mounting features are left entirely to the builder.
