One of the most critical components of any AR-15 custom build is the handguard. In recent years free-float handguards have increased in popularity. The free-float handguard covers the barrel and is attached to the upper receiver via a barrel nut. The handguard serves many functions in an AR-15 build kit such as protecting the shooter's hand from being burned by the barrel, offering the shooter something to grip to help steady the weapon, can function as the attachment point for sights/optic, can have additional accessories attached, and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

About this Handguard: This 12" 'Air-Lok' M-LOK Free Float Handguard is a USA-made Gen 2 design from Guntec USA. It is made from a high-strength, durable, T6 aluminum and features a compression lock-down design. It has M-LOK slots on 4 sides of the handguard and skeletonized cuts throughout it to reduce the overall weight. It also has a machined QD swivel socket on the rear end of the handguard and provides a tight fit-up against the receiver.
Mounting System: The Guntec 12" 'Air-Lok' M-LOK Free Float Handguard utilizes the M-LOK mounting system for easy and solid mounting of different accessories & grips on multiple different positions of the handguard.
Material of Handguard: The Guntec 12" 'Air-Lok' M-LOK Free Float Handguard is precision CNC machined from a high-quality 6061-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum extrusion. This ensures that the handguard will be both extremely light and very strong.
Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the Guntec 12" 'Air-Lok' M-LOK Free Float Handguard is treated with a Type 3 hard coat anodizing.
QD: The Guntec 12" 'Air-Lok' M-LOK Free Float Handguard has 2 QD mounts CNC machined into the handguard for quick and easy sling attachment/detachment.
