Davidson Defense Aegis Lightweight 8.5-inch Pistol-Gas 1:9 .300 BLK AR-15 Freefloat M-Lok Handguard Pistol Upper Build Kit

Aegis Lightweight 8.5-inch Pistol-Gas .300 BLK AR-15 Freefloat M-Lok Handguard Pistol Upper Build Kit

This .300 Blackout upper combines a heavy 8.5-inch chrome moly barrel with a lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver and a 10-inch freefloat M-LOK handguard. The 1:9 twist rate stabilizes subsonic and supersonic .300 BLK loads effectively. Pistol-length gas system cycling keeps recoil manageable in a compact platform. This is a complete upper assembly—bolt carrier group and charging handle are not included.

Key Features

• 8.5-inch 4150 chrome moly barrel with 1:9 twist rate for .300 BLK stability
• Lightweight 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver with M4 feed ramps
• 10-inch freefloat M-LOK handguard in aircraft-grade aluminum
• Pistol-length gas tube with low-profile gas block
• Parkerized barrel finish and anodized upper receiver
• 5/8x24 threaded muzzle with steel flash can and crush washer included

Perfect For

• Subsonic and supersonic .300 Blackout builds
• Shooters prioritizing compact, lightweight platforms
• Suppressed or unsuppressed pistol configurations
• Precision and accuracy-focused builds with freefloat stability

Freefloat Handguard Design

The 10-inch freefloat M-LOK handguard isolates the barrel from the upper receiver, eliminating pressure points that can affect accuracy. Aircraft-grade aluminum construction keeps the assembly lightweight while maintaining rigidity. M-LOK slots provide modular mounting options for tactical accessories and optic support systems.

Barrel and Gas System Optimization

The heavy 8.5-inch chrome moly barrel with 1:9 twist handles both subsonic and supersonic .300 BLK ammunition reliably. Pistol-length gas system cycling reduces felt recoil compared to carbine-length systems in shorter barrels. The low-profile gas block minimizes profile while maintaining consistent cycling performance.

Upper Receiver and Compatibility

The 7075-T6 aluminum upper receiver features M4 feed ramps and standard AR-15 compatibility. Anodized finish provides corrosion resistance. Forward assist assembly and ejection port door with rod and spring are included. This upper accepts standard AR-15 bolt carrier groups and charging handles.

Follow safe handling and manufacturer instructions. Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws. BCG and charging handle are not included.
