The black nitride finish produces a hard, corrosion-resistant surface with a matte black appearance across the barrel exterior. The black oxide thread protector includes an O-ring for secure retention on the 1/2x28 threaded muzzle when not in use and coordinates with the black nitride barrel finish for a fully blacked-out barrel and thread protector combination.
