Upper Receiver

The upper receiver is a Davidson Defense assembled unit built for the AR-15 platform and finished in black, featuring a flat-top Picatinny/MIL-STD-1913 rail running along the top. The forward assist and ejection port cover both come installed, and the upper is built to accept standard AR-15 components throughout, giving the buyer a ready-to-build foundation for the rest of the upper.

Bolt Carrier Group

The carrier is machined from aircraft/bearing-quality 8620 steel in an M16 auto profile, finished in FDE PVD and fitted with a chrome-lined interior to help the bolt cycle smoothly inside the carrier body over repeated use. The bolt itself is machined from 9310 steel and finished to match in FDE PVD, carried through a full battery of processing: heat treating for strength, precision grinding for tight tolerances, shot peening to relieve surface stress, and Magnetic Particle Inspection to check for material flaws before it ships. The firing pin is machined from 8740 steel and finished in chrome plating for a smooth, corrosion-resistant strike surface. The extractor is a one-piece billet unit, fully machined as an enhanced design and finished in phosphate coating, while the ejector and extractor retaining pin are both machined from S7 tool steel for durability under repeated cycling. The cam pin carries a PVD coating to match the finish carried across the rest of the group.

Gas Key

The gas key is machined from 4130 steel and finished in PVD to match the carrier and bolt. It's installed using a precision hydraulic staking process, a method that properly deforms the screw heads into the carrier body to keep the key seated under pressure, and it's secured with KAK T25 drive Grade 8 screws that have themselves been heat treated for added holding strength.

Charging Handle

The charging handle included in this bundle is a standard Mil-Spec AR-15 unit with an A2-style latch, finished in black anodizing. It's a non-ambidextrous design, operable from the right side in the traditional AR-15 configuration.

Lower Parts Kit

Rounding out this bundle is a complete Mil-Spec AR-15 Lower Parts Kit, built for standard Mil-Spec AR-15 lower receivers. It includes the full fire control group needed to get a lower receiver running, along with a Mil-Spec A2 grip finished in black to complete the lower's furniture.
