Davidson Defense AR-15 17" Free Float MLOK Handguard

One of the most critical components of any AR-15 custom build is the handguard. In recent years free-float handguards have increased in popularity. The free-float handguard covers the barrel and is attached to the upper receiver via a barrel nut. The handguard serves many functions in an AR-15 build kit such as protecting the shooter's hand from being burned by the barrel, offering the shooter something to grip to help steady the weapon, can function as the attachment point for sights/optic, can have additional accessories attached, and adds to the aesthetic appeal of the build.

Mounting System: The Davidson Defense 17-inch Free Float M-LOK Handguard utilizes the M-Lok mounting system for easy and solid mounting of different accessories & grips on multiple different positions of the handguard.

Anti Rotation Tabs: The anti-rotation tabs equipped on this AR-15 free-float handguard are used for indexing the handguard top rail to maintain alignment with the top rail of the upper receiver. Handguards with anti-rotation tabs are recommended to be used with Mil-Spec upper receivers or other forged AR-15 uppers as they are too narrow to fit within the dimensions of AR-15 uppers machined from billet aluminum

Material of Handguard: The Davidson Defense 17-inch Free Float M-LOK Handguard is precision CNC machined from a high-quality 6061-T6 aircraft grade aluminum extrusion. This ensures that the handguard will be both extremely light and very strong.

Type of Top Rail: This Davidson Defense 17-inch Free Float M-LOK Handguard is CNC machined with a Picatinny rail across the top of the entire handguard.

Finish: To maintain corrosion resistance the SHOTAC 17-inch Free Float M-LOK Handguard is treated with a Type 3 hard coat anodizing.

QD: The Davidson Defense 17-inch Free Float M-LOK Handguard has 4 QD mounts CNC machined into the handguard for quick and easy sling attachment/detachment.
